Lunch with my buddy

Today I had the honor of taking my buddy Andrew out on a lunch date. We went to good old Mickie D's and ate chicken nuggets and played in playland. It was lots of fun!!

Snack for Shane's class

My middle child, Shane, is in Kindergarten this year. Tomorrow is his first day to bring snack for his class. Being the crazy mom I am, I decided that my baby couldn't just bring store bought snacks. So, I looked in my handy dandy cookbook collection. And I don't know about you, but I LOVE the Kraft Food & Family magazine. I found this recipe for Marbled Chocolate Treats in the Holiday 2007 edition... YUM

Very easy and delicious!!
You mix 6 squares of semi sweet choc and half cup PB and melt. Spread over graham crackers, I had 24 halves. Then you melt 3 white choc squares and swirl on top. Refrigerate at least an hour. YUMMY.. I hope the kids like them!

September MOPS craft

I am so excited about being our Creative Activities leader for our MOPS group this year. Last year I was a Coordinator and this year felt called to step down and out of my comfort zone and into the Creative Activities position. We have an amazing steering team and a wonderful group of guinea pigs.. I mean MOMS..lol

The first meeting of each month September-May we make a craft. This month we made a cute calendar that I saw here. I love all the crafty ladies in blog world that share their ideas. It is so much fun to take an idea and tweak it to your own liking and sometimes budget. Here is a picture of how ours turned out.

Something green grew in my house

I cannot believe it... I grew something.. An actual living plant from a seed.. WOW.. Now I'm no green thumb.. far from it actually. But I thought.. Hey the seeds only cost $1, why not experiment. Well Our parsley and basil are growing.. no sign of rosemary.. oh well.. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

did I shrink?

What happened to my baby? He never was small.. he was born at 9 pounds 9 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long... BUT what happened.. pretty soon I will have to look up at him or stand on a chair to get on to him... (sigh) He's going to be 9 in a little over a month.. (sigh again)

It was inevitable..

Deployments usually always mean, in some way, shape, or form.. I am going to get hurt.. Well 4 months in.. today was THAT day..

I thought I was being smart by putting in some chicken in the crockpot with a bottle of italian dressing. I left it in all day today.. maybe 9 hours.. I came home from picking up my MIL from the airport and had invited some friends over for dinner.. Well it came time to eat and I tried sliding the crockpot over on the counter and I spilled half of the scalding hot dressing all over my right arm. OUCH! I can't scream it louder.. OUCH... !!!!!!!

Luckily I have a neighbor who is a PA and he came to my aid with some miracle cream and bandages.. It sure does hurt something crazy!! He said there are 1st/2nd degree burns and the concern is that its wrapped almost all the way around my wrist. :( Clumsy me..

Bathroom makeover

Today I woke up and decided since my MIL was coming in today, I would redo the kids' bathroom. Now that she will be sharing the jack & jill style bathroom with my 2 oldest boys, I wanted to decorate it so it wouldnt be childish for her, but not too fancy for my boys.. Tell me what you think? (wish I had before pics)

R&R

First day of school!!

I wanna be like my daddy!!

Welcome home daddy!! We missed you!

We had a great 2 weeks with the hubby when he was here on his R&R from Iraq. We have a long way to go before the deployment is over, but we savored every minute of the time we had. The weather was great and we did lots of little things here and there, but mainly stayed near home. We just wanted to soak up as much family time as possible. Here are a few pictures from our time together. :)

back to blogging

Well I figured since the hubby is deployed, I should resume writing on my blog. I guess I will do a better job at keeping it up so that he can stay connected with all the crazy happenings here at home... And there are plenty of them.. Stay tuned, you may get a kick out the real life circus my house has become since my husband left 5 days short of a month ago..

I do get to talk to him nearly everyday, which is a great blessing. The bad thing is, is that I cannot for the life of me remember everything I wanted to tell him while I actually have him on the phone. I always remember afterwards about half a dozen things I wanted to tell him, but forgot. So I figured he could keep up by reading my blog and I can give you guys a good laugh every now and then..

So far...
* the first day I had a not so hot annual woman visit.. still waiting on results
* car broke (had to pay for labor for a mistake the dealership made 4 years ago when fixing a recalled part)
* my bank account went negative
* had to ask parents to help buy groceries
* middle child has: torn a towel rod out of the wall, cut his own hair, smashed his baby brothers fingers in a door, needs 5 fillings at $80 a pop, etc......
* had maintenance at my house to fix flood damage in my laundry room, repair my back door, and fix the garage door that was stuck OPEN (today)
* my grandfather passed away
* kids got some stomach virus that was disgusting
* baby is teething 3 molars at once
*I went into anaphylaxis (spell?) in the middle of the clinic on post and had to be rushed in to get a shot of benedryl in my rear... (still sore) so much for latex free facility
* dog sitting a NOT potty trained dog for 2 weeks
* found out that R&R is only 2 months away, leaving a 9 month span of deployment afterwards

Thats all my exhausted brain will let me remember right now.. LOL! It's really more comical than anything else..

Thanks for listening to me vent.. That is the part I miss the most is being able to talk to my husband (someone over the age of 8) and getting a comforting HUG!! ahhhh... I miss him so much!

I know God is with us through this difficult time and I don't know where I would be if I didn't have that comfort. He is faithful to see us through and He has a greater plan that even though I can't see the purpose in all this for us, I know with all my heart serves for His greater good. I also know that He doesn't give us anything more than He knows we can handle... I just don't have as much faith in myself as He does!

Thank you for those of you who are praying for my family.. It really means a lot. I am thankful for each of my friends who have been there for me! I would be lost without you! I am also so very thankful to be a part of the ministries in my church. It puts it all into perspective of how small these things become when you have the honor and privledge of serving the Lord God Almighty!!

We'll see what tomorrow has in store.. LOL

My baby is turning 1!!

On Saturday, my baby Blake will be turning a year old! He is such a sweet baby and I honestly don't know if I am quite ready for those toddler years just yet..
Blake was born on March 14, 2008 @ 7:48pm.. He was born on the first day of my 35th week. He was 5 pounds 7 ounces and 18 inches long. Today he is 19 pounds and 28 1/2 inches long. Not that I have favorites between my 3 boys, but Blake is by far the best baby I have had! He rarely cries, unless for food... and sometimes minor bouts of mommy seperation. He has slept from 8pm-7am since he turned 2 months old and is a very go with the flow, easy kind of kid! He is such a sweet and special boy and I am so proud to be his mommy! So I'm a little bit sad to see my little baby slip away and turn into a little boy.. :(

Neglectful... I apologize

Ok, so I am really not doing so hot at keeping up with this blog! BUT! I am doing a Bible Study with some friends in person and online on a blog! I'm hoping that by doing that, it will inspire me to keep up in the blog department! It has just been a crazy year and I cannot believe how its flying by! I have kept myself rather busy doing projects and crafts and such!! I also made a resolution this New Year's to lose 50 pounds (hopefully this year) I'll keep you posted on how that's going!
