Lunch with my buddy

Today I had the honor of taking my buddy Andrew out on a lunch date. We went to good old Mickie D's and ate chicken nuggets and played in playland. It was lots of fun!!

Snack for Shane's class

My middle child, Shane, is in Kindergarten this year. Tomorrow is his first day to bring snack for his class. Being the crazy mom I am, I decided that my baby couldn't just bring store bought snacks. So, I looked in my handy dandy cookbook collection. And I don't know about you, but I LOVE the Kraft Food & Family magazine. I found this recipe for Marbled Chocolate Treats in the Holiday 2007 edition... YUM

Very easy and delicious!!
You mix 6 squares of semi sweet choc and half cup PB and melt. Spread over graham crackers, I had 24 halves. Then you melt 3 white choc squares and swirl on top. Refrigerate at least an hour. YUMMY.. I hope the kids like them!

September MOPS craft

I am so excited about being our Creative Activities leader for our MOPS group this year. Last year I was a Coordinator and this year felt called to step down and out of my comfort zone and into the Creative Activities position. We have an amazing steering team and a wonderful group of guinea pigs.. I mean MOMS..lol

The first meeting of each month September-May we make a craft. This month we made a cute calendar that I saw here. I love all the crafty ladies in blog world that share their ideas. It is so much fun to take an idea and tweak it to your own liking and sometimes budget. Here is a picture of how ours turned out.

Something green grew in my house

I cannot believe it... I grew something.. An actual living plant from a seed.. WOW.. Now I'm no green thumb.. far from it actually. But I thought.. Hey the seeds only cost $1, why not experiment. Well Our parsley and basil are growing.. no sign of rosemary.. oh well.. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

did I shrink?

What happened to my baby? He never was small.. he was born at 9 pounds 9 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long... BUT what happened.. pretty soon I will have to look up at him or stand on a chair to get on to him... (sigh) He's going to be 9 in a little over a month.. (sigh again)

It was inevitable..

Deployments usually always mean, in some way, shape, or form.. I am going to get hurt.. Well 4 months in.. today was THAT day..

I thought I was being smart by putting in some chicken in the crockpot with a bottle of italian dressing. I left it in all day today.. maybe 9 hours.. I came home from picking up my MIL from the airport and had invited some friends over for dinner.. Well it came time to eat and I tried sliding the crockpot over on the counter and I spilled half of the scalding hot dressing all over my right arm. OUCH! I can't scream it louder.. OUCH... !!!!!!!

Luckily I have a neighbor who is a PA and he came to my aid with some miracle cream and bandages.. It sure does hurt something crazy!! He said there are 1st/2nd degree burns and the concern is that its wrapped almost all the way around my wrist. :( Clumsy me..

Bathroom makeover

Today I woke up and decided since my MIL was coming in today, I would redo the kids' bathroom. Now that she will be sharing the jack & jill style bathroom with my 2 oldest boys, I wanted to decorate it so it wouldnt be childish for her, but not too fancy for my boys.. Tell me what you think? (wish I had before pics)

R&R

First day of school!!

I wanna be like my daddy!!

Welcome home daddy!! We missed you!

We had a great 2 weeks with the hubby when he was here on his R&R from Iraq. We have a long way to go before the deployment is over, but we savored every minute of the time we had. The weather was great and we did lots of little things here and there, but mainly stayed near home. We just wanted to soak up as much family time as possible. Here are a few pictures from our time together. :)
