For November, we made a magnetic chalkboard out of a cookie sheet as our MOPS craft! This cost about 2.88 per mom. We also made a set of 5 magnets to go with the chalkboard. We also added a strip of corkboard to our chalkboards for versatility.. The focus on our meeting was about our relationships with our spouse and this is a way we can enhance our marriage by promoting communication! Even if its used as a menu board, you'll be speaking his love language:)

October MOPS craft

For our October MOPS craft we made a set of homemade candle holders. We vamped up some store bought glass candle holders and covered them with tacky glue. We wrapped jute/twine around one and burlap fabric around the other! I will have to add pic later..

Its been a while..

I really have a bunch of excuses and no excuse, so I will spare you :) I am going to try and post updates and our recent MOPS crafts for the 1st semester.. So stay tuned for the past 3 months in review.. hopefully it wont take 3 months.. LOL

Lunch with my buddy

Today I had the honor of taking my buddy Andrew out on a lunch date. We went to good old Mickie D's and ate chicken nuggets and played in playland. It was lots of fun!!

Snack for Shane's class

My middle child, Shane, is in Kindergarten this year. Tomorrow is his first day to bring snack for his class. Being the crazy mom I am, I decided that my baby couldn't just bring store bought snacks. So, I looked in my handy dandy cookbook collection. And I don't know about you, but I LOVE the Kraft Food & Family magazine. I found this recipe for Marbled Chocolate Treats in the Holiday 2007 edition... YUM

Very easy and delicious!!
You mix 6 squares of semi sweet choc and half cup PB and melt. Spread over graham crackers, I had 24 halves. Then you melt 3 white choc squares and swirl on top. Refrigerate at least an hour. YUMMY.. I hope the kids like them!

September MOPS craft

I am so excited about being our Creative Activities leader for our MOPS group this year. Last year I was a Coordinator and this year felt called to step down and out of my comfort zone and into the Creative Activities position. We have an amazing steering team and a wonderful group of guinea pigs.. I mean MOMS..lol

The first meeting of each month September-May we make a craft. This month we made a cute calendar that I saw here. I love all the crafty ladies in blog world that share their ideas. It is so much fun to take an idea and tweak it to your own liking and sometimes budget. Here is a picture of how ours turned out.

Something green grew in my house

I cannot believe it... I grew something.. An actual living plant from a seed.. WOW.. Now I'm no green thumb.. far from it actually. But I thought.. Hey the seeds only cost $1, why not experiment. Well Our parsley and basil are growing.. no sign of rosemary.. oh well.. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
